Bratislava 2016

 Second stop: Bratislava.

After our visit to Vienna, we took the train to Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. It is a small city that not many people have heard of, but we thought we'd have a visit as it was on the way to Budapest, our last destination. We spent 1 night there before setting off again, which is all you really need as it's not a big city. There were some tourist attractions that we visited, such as the Bratislava Castle, Primate's Palace, Bratislava City Museum, Slovak National Theatre, Roland Fountain, Church of St. Elisabeth, Most SNP, Michael's Gate and Slavín. So we managed to do a lot in one day!

Happy Valentine's Day 2016

Valentine's Day this year was very special as I could spend it with a very special someone <3 haha

Thank you to my lovely boyfriend who prepared everything and surprised me! Here are some snaps...

Our Pre-Valentine's Day meal at Amerigo Vespucci in Canary Wharf, London. The food and atmosphere was really nice there. I ordered veal which was so yummy!

We took a small cruise to get across the river to our hotel.

He surprised me by booking a night at Hilton Hotel :O The room was very nice with warm lighting and a white-gold coloured theme to it.

The next day on actual Valentine's Day, we went out to London and had more food haha!

We went to Shibuya in Leicester Square, London, a place we've been meaning to try for a long time! We had matcha tea, dumplings, octopus fish balls, and the specialty dessert here that we came for - Pat Bing Su!

This is the Pat Bing Su dessert - it is basically shaved ice that's so light and soft it's like eating fluffy ice cream <3 It is a very common dessert in South Korea and is probably growing in Asia. We ordered matcha and mango pat bing su. We really enjoyed it!

Vienna 2016

First stop: Vienna.

After exams were over, we couldn't wait to leave for our one week trip to Vienna, Bratislava and Budapest. Vienna is so beautiful, the buildings look so grand and majestic. We visited many touristy places such as the Schonbrunn Palace, St Stephen's Cathedral, State Opera House, Albertina, Danube Canal, Hofburg Palace (Michaelerplatz), the Plague Column, Belvedere Palace and St Peter's Church.

Many of the places were in the inner city (Innere Stadt). Some were within walking distances, but taking the tube to the various places was very easy, and the train tickets do not cost too much - we bought a 3-day travel ticket, which makes it so much easier when travelling so we do not need to keep buying tickets.

Vienna, Bratislava & Budapest Trip

At the end of January, I spent a week travelling to Vienna, Bratislava and Budapest, which was a much needed break from exams! Although the weather was freezing, it was refreshing to be in a different country and get away from England for a while.

Along with 3 of my friends, we took a flight with EasyJet to Vienna first. Vienna is so beautiful, the buildings look very grand! After spending 3 days there visiting lots of tourist attractions and trying some Austrian food, we travelled to Bratislava the next morning via train and spent a day there to explore. A day in Bratislava is definitely enough as it's a small city in Slovakia, so there's not that much there to do, but we thought we'd stop by as it is in between Vienna and Budapest. The next day, we travelled from Bratislava to Budapest, which took about 2 hours by train. It was raining when we arrived in Budapest, so we didn't do much on the first day. Luckily the following days were sunny. We spent 3 days exploring Budapest, which is also a beautiful place and it is known to have a great nightlife. Overall, it was a hectic but fun week!
