Exploring St Ives, Cornwall

On the third day in Cornwall we visited Carbis Bay in St Ives. The weather was soo hot despite what the bbc weather forecast told us (they lied again~ said it would be raining but it turned out to be the hottest day since we came here! ><) so we were all dressed up prepared for a rainy day, and we ended up baking in the sun -.- lol but anyway, the beach was absolutely stunning! It was a downhill walk to the beach, and luckily I spotted a shortcut so we didn't have to walk really far, and there would be less trekking uphill afterwards.
The sea was so blue! It doesn't even need a filter.

After visiting Carbis Bay, we drove to St Ives Harbour, which was a cute little town; it reminded me a little of Brighton, but prettier.

As we were in Cornwall, we were kind of obliged to try their Cornish pasties~ We went to a shop called 'Warren's Bakery' and bought their original steak Cornish pasties. They were delicious! Definitely better than the ones bought from supermarkets.
I love cobbled streets, they just look so beautiful. This doesn't even look like the UK :O

Could not resist buying ice cream on such a hot day :P Look at our family united with ice creams xD I chose a cherry chocolate brownie flavoured ice cream haha
It was a cute little town to visit, we had a great time there! We also visited many other places too, including other beaches in Cornwall.

Cornwall: Beach Hopping

We visited quite a few beaches whilst we were in Cornwall for a family trip. Here are pictures of Porthtowan beach and Portreath beach. Other beaches we visited included Chapel Porth beach, Godrevy beach, Carbis Bay and even the North Cliffs.
Portreath beach (below):

There wasn't that many people at the beach because we went there just before the school holidays started, so it wasn't very busy. Otherwise the place would be bustling with people, and it would be too crowded!

Stormy Waves

We initially came here to take some sunset shots of the lighthouse at Godrevy beach, however the weather was pretty bad and the sky was cloudy so there was no chance of catching a sunset :( but we managed to take some good pictures of the waves here. The stormy weather created a darker mood for my pictures, a very different vibe from what I originally wanted, but different doesn't mean bad. I love how the slated rocks on the beach make the pictures look more edgy.

There was a massive crack between the rocks, and when the water entered the tunnel, it made a really loud noise that sounded like thunder. There was a man in the distance who was standing right up close to the sea with his photography equipment trying to take close up shots of the waves! Luckily he didn't get swept away haha
This place brought out the little dare-devil in me~ I wanted to stand right up close to the waves and feel the wind on my face, small splashes of salty water on my legs, take a deep breath and stretch out my arms and feel free from the things that tie you down in life.

Way up high

This was taken at the North Cliffs in Cornwall. It was such an amazing sight! I love being high up so I can see the sky and the sea stretched out right in front of me. This has got to be one of my favourite places that we visited in Cornwall. Luckily it was a nice sunny day too.
There were a lot of purple flowers on the cliffs too, it looked so pretty! Afterwards, we went to Godrevy beach.

Cornwall - Enjoying the British coast

My family has been planning on visiting Cornwall for a while as we've never been, yet it is a very British thing to do during the summer holidays. It's a very popular destination for people who want a nice break but don't necessarily want to leave the country or want to pay for an expensive holiday abroad. It was quite a last minute decision to go this time, and we decided to stay in a Caravan for old times sake (we used to do that when we were little kids, and we used to find it so fun xD). The first day was spent literally on travelling there alone~ My dad drove us there, which took about 6 hours with short breaks in between :O It was a very long journey. When we arrived, we got our keys for the caravan and unpacked our bags, chose our rooms (I ended up with the sofa bed -.-). Then later on, we bought some food from a nearby Sainsbury's store and cooked dinner. At night we planned where we were going to go for the next few days, looking at maps, leaflets and local attractions. The next day, we were going to visit a lot of beaches~ the first was Chapel Porth Beach in St Agnes. It took about an hour and a half to drive there. It was a very windy day >< the car park near the beach was full, so we had to park the car at another car park a bit further away, and walk down to the beach. There were many hills and cliffs near the beach. My dad took his large DLSR Nikon camera and walked all the way to the top of the hills to take some photos. But me being lazy and cold at the same time, didn't trek up the hills and went straight to the sandy beach instead.

As you can see, the sand was quite wet and soggy, and my feet were sinking into the sand >< haha but it was worth a visit :)
